Montoya's Nascar Fireball At Daytona 500

Former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya slams into a jet dryer holding 200 gallons of jet fuel and bursts into flames. While trying to catch up to the field on a yellow flag at the 2012 Daytona 500, Montoya lost control of his car after reporting something had broken.

Sutil Targeting Comeback Mid-Season

Adrian Sutil, on a 18 months suspended sentence for three years is hoping he can get back in Formula 1 during the season. Sutil who is bringing the case to the appeals Court in Munich is hopeful a Williams driver is released during the season when a sponsor doesn't pay.

"We will fight to remain in Formula 1" says Sutil's manager Manfred Zimmermann in Sports Bild "We are still hoping to get a place in 2012 and if so, in the course of the season."

Sutil speaking on Servus TV says "I am now in a new situation, but I'm motivated. For me, it is perhaps a short break, but it could be over very quickly if any opportunities open up." Sutil also adds he would like to "go back in 2013 in a very good Formula 1 team."

Reinstating his hope a team needs a replacement mid season the ex Force India driver says "It's a shame for me that I will probably not be there at the start in Melbourne, but hopefully one way or another I will (be back) in the course of the year"

Robbie Marshall Bike Jump: Australian GP

Robbie Marshall jumps over a Formula 1 car (Minardi, owned by Australian entrepreneur Paul Stoddart) and a helicopter with propeller in motion. Marshall, an Australian motocross rider and member of the Crusty Demons was helping promote the Australian Grand Prix which will be held on March 17 in Melbourne. Vettel Wins Prestigious German Award

Two-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel is to be awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf which is the highest accolade for sporting excellence in Germany. Among the other athletes who were recently awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf, include NBA superstar Dirk Nowitzki and the German national football team. Michael Schumacher also picked up the award after obtaining his own second world title in 1995.

"I was surprised when I heard of the ceremony, because I did not assume that one day I would receive the Silver Laurel Leaf," said Vettel. "The more it is a great honor for me. I am extremely proud and look forward to the reception in Berlin." added the reigning F1 world champion.

German President Christian Wulff will give the award to Vettel on 24 February in Berlin.

New Mercedes W03 In Shakedown Silverstone Video

Footage of the 2012 Mercedes AMG spotted at the shakedown in Silverstone. The W03 looks to have a step nose and it seems to be Nico Rosberg driving it.

The Mercedes W03 is to be officially launched on Tuesday before Barcelona testing with Michael Schumacher driving it the first day.

Bernie Blames Bahrain On "Some Kids"

Bernie Ecclestone has once again insisted the Bahrain grand prix will proceed as planned despite continued unrest in the kingdom. Ecclestone told the Telegraph Sport "The only message I got was that there were some kids in trouble with the police.

"We are planning to go. I’ve always said that if there was going to be any drama it would be on the Day of Rage. They would have to do something then. People there seem confident that a race two months away will be alright.

"The teams are not the slightest bit concerned. They seem happy that things will go ahead without problems. Last year was a more clear-cut decision not to go but things have changed a lot since then."

Violence escalated Tuesday on the anniversary of last year's uprising. BBC reported security forces fired rubber bullets and tear gas at youths who hurled back petrol bombs and stones.

Hamilton: It Feels Reasonably Quick

Lewis Hamilton talks about his first impressions from testing the McLaren MP-27. Hamilton tells the BBC his "initial thoughts were pretty good" and there were "no nasty surprises" unlike last year when McLaren showed up to test with an unreliable and slow car.

The 2008 F1 world champion said there were "nice surprises that it feels reasonably quick so that's a good thing" before cautioning "but of course it can always be better"

Sebastian Vettel talking about his first test in the new Red Bull RB8, says there was "quite a big loss in grip because of the changes in regulations" and sees nothing revolutionary in any of the 2012 cars so far and awaits the new Mercedes to see have they came up with anything.
