Raikkonen Comes Off Snowmobile And Hurts Hand

Kimi Raikkonen during his first run Saturday at the Swatch Snow Mobile lost control of his 75-horsepower snowmobile at a corner and came off reports Sport10.at. On landing the Finn injured his left hand. The 2007 F1 world champion was immediately helped by two paramedics but fortunately for Kimi's Formula 1 comeback plans the injury is not serious. However Raikkonen who now is wearing a small bandage on his left hand will be taking no further part in the competition.

Raikkonen recently signed a comeback deal with Lotus Renault who lost their previous star driver Robert Kubica through injury before the season began. With that in mind one could see Lotus Renault now wanting to curtail the Iceman's activities to save anymore frights.

Update: Lotus Renault on Twitter "Kimi went off during a snow mobile competition in Austria today but he's absolutely fine. We just spoke to Kimi. There's nothing to worry about, he only has a sore wrist. He might have it checked again on Monday, but that's all."
